The Federal Government of Mexico has announced Mexican Wine Day

New York, NY, Jan. 10, 2023 /The Federal Government of Mexico has announced Mexican Wine Day.

According to the Federal Diary of Mexico (Diario Federal de la Nacion)  The President of Mexico has officially declared Oct. 7 as the Mexican Wine Day, in Spanish, “Dia del Vino Mexicano.” This Celebration will start to be celebrated in Mexico this year.

It is stipulated on the official record that The Law for the Promotion of the Wine Industry will develop strategic lines of action for its compliance, among others, the promotion of the use and knowledge in the consuming public of emblems related to the quality of Mexican wine. More likely, due to this endeavor, will be an increased promotion of campaigns or promotional activities nationally and internationally aimed at increasing knowledge and consumption of Mexican wine.

Currently, in Mexico, there are approximately 50 varieties in production and around 100 varieties under the testing stage. 14 0f the 32 states of the Mexican Republic are dedicated to viticulture. For instance, commercial wineries in Baja California, and many other historic wine regions are thriving and growing. In 2006, there were fewer than 25 wineries in Mexico. Today, there are more than 150.

Last December 2022, Latinas Wine Club Inc. hosted the “Mexican Wines, Promoting the Wine Industry in New York “with the Mexican Consulate. The event was the first collaborative effort between wine importers and wine educators directed to renowned Mexican restaurants from Greater New York City.

During the event, the participants enjoyed a wide range of styles and terroir with wines from Querétaro, Guanajuato, Coahuila, and Baja California.
