This October, we joyously mark the fifth anniversary of the Latinas Wine Club! For half a decade, our club has been a vibrant space for Latinas to connect, learn, and celebrate our shared heritage through the delightful world of wine.
We’ve uncorked countless bottles, shared stories, and built a supportive community that spans across the nation. This special occasion is a testament to the passion and camaraderie that defines us. Join us as we toast to our past, celebrate our present, and look forward to many more years of friendship and memorable sips!

Part 1: "Mujeres en el Vino: Latinas Leading in the World of Wine" - Panel Discussion
Objective: To inspire and educate attendees by showcasing the achievements and experiences of successful Latina women in various sectors of the wine industry.
Description: An engaging and insightful panel discussion featuring five influential Latina women who are making their mark in the wine world – from winemaking and viticulture to distribution, sommelier expertise, marketing, and entrepreneurship. This is a unique opportunity to hear their stories, challenges, triumphs, and perspectives on the future of wine.
Meet our panelists

Meet our Panel Moderator: Deyanira Martinez
Deyanira Martinez is a journalist, speaker, author, and communication strategist, as well as the founder of DeyaMedia Corp. She is the co-founder of the project Mujeres Que se Atreven y Superan Límites. Having previously served as an administrative manager at The New York Times for 23 years, her work is focused on amplifying diverse voices, particularly those within the Latino community, and she has been deeply involved with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Through her work, she aims to inspire and empower other Latinas to pursue their dreams and overcome barriers.

Meet our Panelist: Vanessa Dones Senior Public Relations Manager
Vanessa Dones is a seasoned communications professional with over 15 years of experience in the wine and spirits industry, currently serving as the Senior Public Relations Manager at Palm Bay International. She has led strategic communications for iconic brands like Champagne Taittinger and Louis Jadot, and co-founded Home Sweet Hudson, a boutique vacation rental management business. With a WSET Level 3 certification, Vanessa’s deep expertise is matched by her passion for community, which she shares through cooking and volunteering at Sean Casey Animal Rescue.

Meet our Panelist: Jesica Vargas, Wine Journalist and founder of Andes Uncorked.
Jesica Vargas is an Argentine journalist with a background in marketing, specializing in wine. Since 2013, she has worked with wineries and wine-related businesses in Mendoza, the land of Malbec. In 2019, Jesica moved to the US and founded Andes Uncorked, with the aim of sharing the stories of wine producers and providing educational content about the wines and terroir of Argentina, as well as the rest of South America.
In addition to her work in Andes Uncorked, Jesica is currently a Writer at Large at Wine Enthusiast. In her role, she reports on Latin American and South African wine regions, and reviews over 1,300 wines annually.

Meet our Panelist: Tatiana Gana District Sales Manager
Tatiana is a native New Yorker raised by Chilean immigrants. She discovered her love of wine while living in Spain. After several years in advertising and sales, she became a certified sommelier in 2015. She achieved the WSET Diploma in 2021. She previously worked at Baron Francois as a sales rep covering the entire state of NY and northern NJ. She also ran her own food and wine events and travel company just before joining Winebow. Her industry experience is multi-faceted and includes digital marketing, wholesale, distribution, brand management, importing, wine travel, consulting, education, retail, and event management. She can fake multiple accents in both English and Spanish.

Meet our Panelist: Cynthia Rodriguez Board Member at Texas Fine Wines and Latinas Wine Club Partner
Cynthia Rodriguez currently serves as a Partner at the Latinas Wine Club; she was a founding member, part of the first Ambassador Cohort and her deep passion for wine drives her commitment to the club’s mission: “Educate, Empower and Elevate, Through Wine!” After dedicating 31 years to public service, she has embarked on a new journey in the wine industry. Proudly hailing from Texas, she actively supports and champions the Texas wine scene. Additionally, she collaborates with Texas Fine Wine and non-profits including, Texas Wine Auction and Women for WineSense, Texas Hill Country Chapter.
